Puttur, Feb 8, 2016 : The skeletal remains of a  young woman who was reported missing since September 18, 2014, have been found on a hill at Tenkila near Puttur on February 7.


Sowmya


The young woman has been identified as Sowmya (25).   Sowmya who had been to her grandmother’s house on September 17 last year, had left the place the next day but was never spotted again. Sowmya who had studied upto PUC  was initially working for a private firm, but  had later quit her job to roll beedies to eke out a living.

Though the exact cause behind her death is not known, the suspicion is that she might have committed suicide. A chain and clothes reportedly belonging to Sowmya were found  near the skeletal remains.

Investigations are underway by Puttur Rural Police.
