Puttur : Road mishap claims life of councilor, 3 family members

Puttur, June 3, 2013 : A macabre road accident involving a KSRTC bus and a jeep claimed the life of Leena Mascarenhas, Councilor of Puttur and three other members of her family at Santyar near Puttur on June 2, Sunday. Two others sustained serious injuries in the mishap.
The other deceased are Peter Mascarenhas, husband of Leena, her son Preetham (13) and brother Antony. The mishap took place when the KSRTC bus operating from Bellare to Sullia collided head on with their jeep. The family was on way to Puttur from Sullia after attending a wedding.
The deceased Peter Mascarenhas worked as an attender in St Philomena High School and had just celebrated his 52nd birthday on June 1, Saturday.
Puttur police have registered a case.
