Puttur, Mar 31, 2017: Police have arrested five students  on March 30, Thursday in connection with a clash between two groups of students  of a private college in the town on Tuesday.

arrested.Those arrested are Abhishek, Nishanth, Akshay, Nithin and Karthik. It is said that the clash took place between a group of local students as well as some students from outside Puttur.

 Rajesh and Vinuthraj, both 19 years of age  who first got themselves admitted to the Puttur Government Hospital alleged  that they were attacked by a group of students who intended to kill them. Both stayed in a PG accommodation and hailed from outside Puttur. They also named Nithin, Karthik, Abhishek, Nishanth and Akshay as the accused.

Meanwhile, one of the accused Karthik along with Jithendra too got  admitted to the  hospital alleging  that they were attacked by  Vinuthraj, Yathindra, Thousif, Rajesh, Shashikanth, Bhagath, Dhanush and Gurudarshan.

All the five arrested students have been  produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
