Public hardly aware of government facilities: Yogish Bhat

Mangalore, Jan 7: The government of Karnataka and the Karnataka State Minority Commission organized an Information Camp to list out the various government facilities available for minority communities, at Town Hall, Mangalore.

Krishna J Palemar, the district-in-charge minister, inaugurated the formal function. In his inaugural speech, he said that government facilities must reach the common people. The officers and authorities concerned must provide complete information about the various facilities to the common people. But it is quite evident that they are not doing so because facilities reach only a fraction of the people for whom they are intended. Government policies must get media publicity so that they reach all the people. Today, the public is hardly aware of these programmes. He said that the public must play an active role in understanding government plans, schemes, and policies; and the officers concerned must help in providing facilities to all the people.

People are hardly aware of these policies and the benefits that can be derived from them. He urged people to understand these schemes and policies and benefit from them.

Kusro Qureshi, the president of the Karnataka State Minority Commission; U T Khader, the MLA of Mangalore; N B Aboobakkar; Shahida Begum; Jagadeesh Sheti, Bante Bodidatta; and Rajashree Hegde were the dignitaries on the dais.
