Probe into youth’s death, call to expedite

Udupi, Dec 12, 2019:    A group led by former minister Pramod Madhwaraj met Udupi SP Nisha James and demanded an impartial probe into the suspicious death of Shreyas at Hosur in Brahmavar.

 

Madhwaraj said that the inquiry into the alleged suspicious death of Shreyas is at a stand still. “An urgent  impartial probe should be conducted and the family should get justice,before evidence goes missing” he added.

Shreyas, a resident of Hosur, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Madisalu stream on November 5. Even after a month, there is no progress in the investigation, Madhwaraj pointed out.

Shreyas’ mother alleged that, when her son had been studying at home, some people took him out on the pretext of catching fish and murdered him.

The SP, in turn, told the delegation that the police have taken the case seriously. “Police are waiting for the FSL report from Bengaluru lab. The investigation will be expedited once we get the report. We will not succumb to any pressure. The department will ensure justice to the family of the deceased," she informed the group.
