Priest assault case in Subrahmanya: VHP, Bajrangdal seek probe

Mangaluru, June 06, 2019: The VHP and Bajrangdal have demanded an investigation into the  case of assault on a priest belonging to the Samputa Narasimha Mutt at the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple office.

 

Speaking to reporters here, M B Puranik, VHP leader  suspected that there was a conspiracy behind this incident which he felt aimed at creating a discord between the Mutt and the shrine.

He also  pointed out that the two accused who attacked the priest Kumar Banninthaya who worked for the Mutt had  no connection with the temple. He also urged the DC to undertake a probe into the case of assault.

Sharan Pumpwell who was also present at the press meet said Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt will visit Subrahmanya on June 7 to discuss the issue. Even VHP and Bajrangdal will take part in the meet aimed at sorting out the issue, he said.
