Mangaluru, June 18, 2017: President of India Pranab Mukherjee was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at the Mangaluru International Airport on June 18, Sunday. The President will be participating in a foundation laying ceremony in Udupi and will also be visiting the Krishna Mutt and Kollur Mookambika Temple.
DK District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai, State Minister for Food and Civil Supplies U T Khader, Deputy Commissioner K G Jagadeesha, Police Commissioner T R Suresh, Mayor Kavitha Sanil and ZP Chief Meenakshi Shantigodu welcomed the President who arrived by an Indian Air Force aircraft. Even Bengaluru Urban Development Minister K J George had arrived along with the President.
The two later left for Udupi in an IAF helicopter. Security in and around the airport as well as the road leading to the airport had been tightened in view of the President’s visit.
