Mangaluru, April 9, 2015 : The parents of 21 year old pregnant married woman Bharati Priya (21) from Tamil Nadu who was found hanging in her house at Amblamogaru in Konaje on April 8, Wednesday, have blamed their son-in-law Vighnesh for their daughter’s death. They have alleged that Vighnesh who is now missing had killed their daughter.
Priya’s body was created at the Nandigudde crematorium on April 9, Thursday after a post-mortem at KMC Hospital.
Her parents Manimuli and Madi Alagan who spoke to reporters allege that Vighnesh along with his parents had conspired to eliminate Priya. In the room where Priya’s body was found hanging, police found another noose close by and the suspicion is that Vighnesh might have pretended to commit suicide to instigate Priya to end her life.
The parents said that their girl who was doing her B.Sc in nursing had a love marriage with Vighnesh a civil engineer who was from a so called upper caste. They also said their daughter had eloped to marry Vighnesh in Ooty and the family had to face trouble in their hometown where people of upper caste harassed them, beat them up and made them stay away from the village. It is learnt, Vighnesh and Priya had rented a house at Amblamogaru just in January.
According to Priya’s parents Vighnesh had taken all his belongings and had escaped from the house after locking it from outside after Priya reportedly hanged herself.
The two who were in utter grief also recalled how their daughter used to tell them that Vighnesh used to speak this parents over phone often but would not reveal what they spoke to Priya despite her insistence, giving room for doubts.
They also urged the police to arrest Vighnesh and bring him to justice.
