Mangaluru, Oct 13, 2015 : Jagadish Shenava, District President of the VHP has demanded that the State Government provided a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Bhajrangdal activist and flower vendor Prashanth Poojary who was murdered in Moodbidri on October 9.
Speaking to reporters here on October 13, Tuesday, he said the Hindu outfits will hold a Satyagriha if the police failed to arrest the killers within a week.
Continuing Shenava said "Despite the Hindu organisations informing the government about the unlawful activities of the SDPI and PFI which are involved in cattle slaughtering, love jihad and disruption of communal harmony, no action has been initiated by the government."
Alleging that the government had withdrawn cases against activists of Muslim outfits, he said this had led to a spurt in cattle theft and slaughter cases as well as attacks on Hindu activists.
He said the failure of the police to arrest the attackers in cases reported from Munchoor, Permude and Mogaveerapatna, has given room for suspicion. He also accused the ministers from the district as well as elected representatives of exerting their influence on the Police Department and preventing action.
On this occasion, Shenava said the Bhajrangdal and VHP would raise Rs 10 lakh and provide it to Prashanth’s family.
Bhujanga Kulal, Gopal Kuttar and other Hindu leaders were present.
The police has to be very strict in finding the culprits. Never decide on your own and make the situation worse. Leave the rest o the police. Proud of the Saffron activists for your love and support to Prasanath’s Family. His good deeds will always be remenbered .
