Mangalore, June 15, 2013: The Prajna Counseling Centre of Mangalore has been selected for the Award given by the state government’s Labour Department for the year 2013 in recognition of its significant works in the field of protection and rehabilitation of child labourers.
Prof. Hilda Rayappan, Director of Prajna received the Award from PT Parameshwar Naika, State Labour Minister, at a function held at Jnanajyothi Hall in Bangalore on June 12 on the occasion of the World Anti-Child Labour Day.
Prajna Counseling Centre has been playing a key role in rehabilitating under privileged children including child labourers, rag pickers and children of migrant labourers as well as slum dwellers since the past one and a half decades. It has also been helping in bringing the underprivileged kids to the mainstream society.
