Poornima murder case: Cops arrest three more accused

Karkala, June 11, 2013: With investigations into the murder case of Poornima, a young lady from Mallar in Renjala village underway, police have arrested three more persons. If the prime accused Prabhaker Shetty, a make-up artiste had already been arrested; the police have now arrested three of his friends who have abetted the murder.

Those arrested are Praveen Tauro alias Babli, Guruprasad, autorickshaw drivers whose vehicles were used to carry the body of Poornima to be dumped in a ditch. The other person  arrested  is  Amaresh. Police are presently searching for two more persons wanted in connection with the case.

It may be recalled here that Prabhaker who pretended to be in love with Poornima, later stabbed her to death in his shop, when she pressurized him to marry her. Later, her body was taken in an auto with the help of his four friends to be dumped at Mastikatte  Shediguri in Hosabettu.   The body was also exhumed on June 9, Sunday for an autopsy.
