Poojary urges for CBI probe into illegal mining issue

Mangalore, July 13: Senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary said that the Opposition is right in staging protests at the Assembly. He was addressing reporters at a press meet held at the Press Club of Mangalore on July 13, Tuesday.

He also added that the Opposition is duty bound to protest. Simultaneously, he condemned the Opposition for protesting in Assembly and urged the government to penalize the accused even if they belong to the Opposition. 

 

Mr. Poojary alleged that the CM is hesitating to order a probe into the illegal export of iron ore worth Rs. 1.6 crore from Karnataka because a number of politicians are involved. Although the CM is willing to discuss the issue with the central government, he is unwilling to take action against the ministers involved, he said and urged the centre to order a CBI investigation into the matter.

Youth Congress President Arun Coelho, Kallige Tharanath Shetty, Former Youth Congress President Harikrishna Bantwal, and Suresh Ballal were present during the press meet.
