Mangaluru, Feb 02, 2015: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has once again lashed out against Kavu Hemanath Shetty, the founder of BHP who has now been sacked as Puttur Block Congress President.
Speaking to reporters here on February 1, Sunday, Poojary said Shetty by forming the BHP and by stating that the Congress has failed to protect Hindus has only been helping the Sangh Parivar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Continuing his tirade, Poojary also made a mockery of Shetty by stating “Even former union minister Veerappa Moily, your Guru has opposed the floating of BHP.”It may be recalled here that soon after his ouster, Shetty had accused both Poojary and Puttur MLA of resorting to divisive politics. Retorting at this statement, Poojary said he was not a member of any Billawa organisation and added that he in fact visits programmes organised by Billawas if invited.
He also charged Hemanath Shetty of criticising not only Congress workers but also challenging party supremo Sonia Gandhi. He said “Hemanath Shetty was after power and money and did not pay heed to values.” Shetty would not have formed BHP if he was patriotic and had faith in the Congress,” Poojary further added.
Poojari targets Khader too: Surprisingly, Janardhana Poojary who had come in support of Health Minister UT Khader when he was criticised by Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa some time back, this time targeted Khader for his reported statement that BHP can enjoy support provided it does good work.
Criticising this, Poojary said “Khader only wants votes and power and not the party.”
To another question on Congressman Vijaynath Vittal Shetty chosen to preside the Hindu Samajotsava planned in Mangaluru, Poojary said he would listen to Shetty’s address at the Samajotsava and then voice his opinion.
Mahabala Maarla, city Mayor, Kavitha, Deputy Mayor, PV Mohan, Kallige Taranath Shetty and others were present on the occasion.
