Mangaluru, Dec 13, 2014: Senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary has accused the police of being biased while dealing with the Ulaibettu incident and the violence that followed. He alleged that most of those arrested are from backward classes who have been misled
Speaking to reporters in the city on December 12, Friday, Poojary has described as ‘anti-national’ the statement made by BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj terming Nathuram Godse, killer of Mahatma Gandhi as a ‘patriot.’
Poojary urged the Prime Minister to take strict action against the MP for his statement that had created a ruckus in the parliament. He urged the Prime Minister to sack the MP within a week and criticised the prime minister for his silence on the issue.
He also questioned the silence of the Prime Minister towards the “aggressive fundamentalism” exhibited by Sangh Parivar pracharaks with regard to conversion. “Modi will not be fit to hold the post of PM if he fails to act upon such issues.”
