Poll code : Beware of accepting cash, gifts for vote

Mangaluru, Mar 31, 2018: Offering cash or any gift or accepting cash or gift in exchange for votes is a punishable offence and those found guilty will be subject to a jail term of upto one year and penalty or both as per IPC 1960 Column 171B in the wake of the enforcement of the poll code of conduct.

gift 31 This warning has been issued in a press communiqué by Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil who is also the District Election officer.

He has also informed that Flying Squads have been formed to check any instance of offering or accepting bribe for votes.

Any such instance can be brought to the notice of the authorities by calling the 24X7 control room on toll free number 18004252099.
