Mangaluru, Apr 12, 2015:  This math will always be above politics said Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahaswami of Sri Sringeri Shankara Peetam on April 11, Saturday.  Politicians, irrespective of their party affiliations, will always  receive the blessings of the mutt to help them serve the people  at their best.

The swami was delivering the ’anugraha bhashana’  at a civic reception hosted for him and his junior Sri Vidhushekhara Tirtha Swami at the mutt’s branch in Kotekar Ullal.  Sri Bharati Tirtha also said that the mutt did not seek any favours from politicians or the administration.

The mutt has been continuing the tradition of bringing scholars to head the peetam; and Sri Vidhushekhara Tirtha was brought as his successor keeping that tradition in view, he said.  Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade, who was congratulated by the swami for being conferred the Padma Vibhushan, hailed the contribution of the swamis and the peetam to strengthening Sanatana Dharma.
