Police nab rowdy Shettigar’s associates who attacked Pitty Nagesh

Udupi, Aug 2: The district crime intelligence bureau (DCIB) arrested four people with regard to the attempted murder of Pitty Nagesh of Kukkikatte. The arrested are Gururaj Poojary of Indrali, Guruprasad Shetty of Alevoor, Mohammed Rajin of Kanchinadka, and Pachu alias Prashanth of Alake.

The arrested four, who are associated with Pitty Nagesh’s rival rowdy Vinod Shettigar, had actually planned to surrender to court because they had learned that the police had collected enough information to arrest Vinod Shettigar. However, before they could surrender themselves, the police nabbed them at Mangala Stadium.

Ershad of Kanchinadka, who is the car driver, and Vinod Shettigar are now absconding and the police have launched a manhunt for them.

DCIB Inspector Ganesh Hegde and police personnel Damodar, Narayan, Sathish Ballal, Rathnakar, Mahabala Shetty, Dinesh Shetty, Vaman, Udaya Kundar, Manohar Udyavara, and Abdul Khader investigated this case under the guidance and leadership of the superintendent of police and additional superintendent of police.

On July 20, Pitty Nagesh was attacked by a group of miscreants, who fled in a car. They abandoned the car at Yermal beach. While Nagesh is recovering in a hospital in Manipal, the police have successfully nabbed the miscreants when they were about to surrender.
