Mangaluru, Oct 01, 2019: Speaking at free cardiac check-up camp organised on the occasion of World Heart Day at KMC Hospital here, city Commissioner of Police Dr P S Harsha, said that there is a need to take up healthy lifestyle. Exercise is essential to maintain healthy body. Change in the lifestyle of people has led to several diseases. There has been an increase in heart-related diseases owing to the change in lifestyle in the recent years. There is a need to create awareness to prevent such diseases, he stressed. It may be noted that Dr.Harsha IPS is a medical doctor.
Dr Padmanabha Kamath, HoD of Cardiology and professor at KMC-Mangaluru said, “There has been an increase in number of people suffering from cardiac-related problems. Healthy lifestyle and exercise helps to check heart-related problems.”
As many as 250 persons benefited from the check-up camp. MAHE Mangaluru Campus Pro Vice Chancellor Dr V Surendra Shetty, KMC Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Anand Venugopal and others were present. The participation was enthisiastic.
