Plea to CM Siddaramaiah against mandatory Malayalam in Kasargod

Mangaluru, July 9, 2017: Kasargod Zilla Panchayat’s Standing Committee on Development Chairman Harshad Varkady met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Mangaluru on July  8, Saturday and   appealed to him to pressurise the Kerala Government to exempt Kasargod district from Kerala Government ’s mandatory Malayalam order.

harshad varkadyHe also apprised the Chief Minister of the various problems confronting the Kasargod Kannadigas. The Kannada language minorities of Kasargod are hit hard due to the Kerala Government’s policy as Malayalam is imposed  on them, Harshad Varkady pointed  out.

The memorandum submitted to the CM also referred to the several protests being held by Kannadigas in Kasargod and  the resolution passed by the Kasargod Zilla Panchayat against the government decision.
