Mangalore, Jan 4, 2013: Security at the Mangalore International Airport has been tightened in the wake of intelligence reports regarding the Indian Mujahideen plans to hijack a plane in its bid to get the arrested IM Co-Founder Yasin Bhatkal released.
JT Radhakrishna, Director of the Airport said extra security measures are initiated at the airport whenever there is a high alert. Security authorities are keeping a strict vigil, he informed.
The canine squad at the airport was also pressed into service both inside and outside the airport premises on January 3, Friday as a precautionary measure.
