Pejawar Mutt seer clarifies Kanakana Kindi issue

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Sep 8, 2011 :  Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji, the chief head of the Pejawar Mutt, said that the window on the outer wall of the Shri Krishna Temple and the window at the sanctum sanctorum of the same temple can be referred to as Kanakana Kindi.

Pjaewa 1He explained that the seers of all the eight mutts at Udupi have nothing against referring to both the windows as Kanakana Kindi because they all have the highest respect for Kanaka Dasa.

The seer was attempting to clarify an issue that arose after his suggestion that the window at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple be christened as Navagraha Kindi.

Stating that his attention has been brought to the fact that the Koraga community, which is also Hindu, is hurt by his suggestion, the seer said the window was named Navagraha Kindi after first consulting the chief head of the Kanaka Peeta and the leaders of the Koraga community.

He clarified that he has no objection to referring to both the windows as Kanakani Kindi if the Koraga community is averse to including the word Navagraha.

He also urged people not to argue over the issue.
