Mangaluru, July 13, 2016 : A press release said the DK DC Adoor B Ibrahim, who has already banned the movement of gas tankers in the district from 10 pm to 6 am and the oil companies have identified land for parking of their vehicles; has banned parking of gas tankers beside the national highway from July 12, Tuesday.
A meeting held on July 11, Monday, it discussed the three acre parking land identified at Golithottu near Nelyadi.
The DC directed the police and transport officials to strictly enforce the ban on movement of tankers from 10 pm to 6 am. He also said that the rule of two drivers in a tankers should be implemented.
There is only one Emergency Response Vehicle on the highway. The oil companies have been asked to station another vehicle. The meeting also directed the oil companies to use Vehicle tracking system.

A particular place for parking has to provided or else they will choose the road side itself for halting the vehicle . It is very risky at night because some do not have proper reflectors too | |

DC had also ordered for the halt of tankers at night after the Soorikumeru accident but now no against it . Nothing is taken seriously by both public and officers |
