Edaneer Mutt Seer Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji inaugurated the event and said that AJ Shetty has been immortalized in this hospital, which has grown to astonishing heights in the past 10 years.

Mr. Shetty presided over the event and distributed prizes among staff members in recognition of their performance in various fields. Dr. Amitha Marla, the director of medical administration, delivered the welcome address and Dr. Prashanth Marla, the medical director of AJ Hospital, delivered the introductory address.

Dr. Shantharam Shetty, the vice chancellor of NITTE University; Dr. Ramesh Pai, the dean of AJ Institute of Medical Science; and Dr. Sureshchandra Shetty, the principal of AJ Institute of Dental Sciences, were also present.

The AJ Shetty couple was felicitated by the AJ Institutions staff.

Earlier on Saturday 8th October, the hospital had hosted ’Hospitalentz’ , an inter hospital variety entertainment contest for staff members. This is a unique initiative to give the paramedical and support staff of hospitals an opportunity to expose their talents as the normally busy hospital life give them very little time to do so.

The contest was inaugurated by Mrs Sharada J. Shetty, trustee of Laxmi Memorial Education Trust. Dr. M. Ramesh Pai, Dean of AJ Institute of Medical Science was chief guest.

The event was a big success with the staff of more than 8. hospitals taking part. The team from Father Mullers Hospital was adjudged the winner and KMC Hospital Mangalore were the runners up.
