Mangalore, July 10: District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar has clarified that he has already declared his assets and liabilities to the Lokayukta on June 30, adding that the Lokayukta has acknowledged receipt. The minister was speaking to reporters in Suratkal yesterday.
Denying reports that the proposal to construct a fisheries jetty at Kulai has been cancelled, the minister said that the cost would be borne equally by the NIT-K and the state government as per a decision taken at a meeting held in Bangalore to discuss the issue.
He also said that Rs. 4 crore has been set aside for de-silting and dredging at the old port. Informing that 100 kms of road have been concretized during the last one year, he said that he did not find it necessary to respond to the charges leveled against him by the Congress, which has not contributed anything to the development of roads.
