PU student dies in bike-jeep collision at Sullia

Sullia, Mar 6, 2014 :  A teenager who was pillion riding a  bike was killed on the spot while his friend who was riding the bike  suffered critical injuries when their bike hit a  pick-up jeep  at Edoli  on Subrahmanya-Sullia road on March 5, Wednesday.

Both are Second PUC students of Subrahmanya PU College and were returning home after collecting their hall tickets.

The deceased is Vishwas (17), son of Janu Naik  of Halkur village. His friend Kaushik (17) who was riding the bike had actually won it  in a lucky dip last year but had not yet registered the vehicle.

It is learnt, the bike was over speeding and hit the jeep while negotiating a curve landing the two riders on the road. Vishwas who sustained critical head injuries died on the spot. The injured Kaushik  who hails from Volalambe is admitted to a hospital in Puttur.

A holiday was declared for their college a s a mark of respect to the departed student.
