PT Usha satisfied with quality of Synthetic Track at Mangala Stadium

Mangalore, July 15, 2013: Veteran sprinter PT Usha who brought laurels for India in athletics was in Mangalore on July 14, Sunday and inspected the synthetic track at Mangala Stadium.  The track was inaugurated by erstwhile CM Jagadish Shettar.

Later, Usha expressed her happiness over the quality of the track and stressed the need to have such tracks in every district to encourage athletic talents.

On Ashwini Akkunji who has completed her two year ban period after testing positive for dope, Usha said Ashwini should be given another chance. The authorities must give her another chance to prove herself, Usha said.

N Prakash, Deputy Commissioner, Parshwanath, officer in Youth Services and Sports Department and others were present.
