Mangalore, July 03, 2014: The Passenger Reservation System Counter opened at the DC office premises for the benefit of people wishing to book railway tickets, was inaugurated on July 3, Thursday by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel. The MP’s office in the DC office premises was also inaugurated on the occasion by Nityananda Swamiji of Veda Vijnana Mandira.
In his address, Nalin said his office will be open for the convenience of the public from 9 am to 6 pm and requested public to bring to his notice grievances if any. He also stated that he will be available for the public to meet him at the office every Tuesday.
Referring to the controversial Yettinahole Project, the MP said he has already held talks with Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati and has requested her to shelve the project.
Representatives of various organisations submitted memoranda to the MP seeking solution to their problems.
A.B.Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner, Pratap Simha Nayak, District BJP Chief, Krishna Palemar, Nagaraj Shetty, Rukmaiah Poojari, Padmanabha Kottari and several others were present.
