PM Modi wasting money on foreign tours, alleges Mallikarjun Kharge

Mangaluru July 16, 2016: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is busy in foreign tours on the pretext of holding talks, and in the process is only wasting money, alleged Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha.

Speaking after inaugurating the South Block Congress Convention at Town Hall on July 16 Saturday, Kharge said  that Sonia Gandhi has been the strength of the Congress which has served the poor people by implementing schemes such as Food Security Act, Right to Education and MNREGA. But the Modi government has utterly failed and disillusioned people by its fake promises, he alleged.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Stressing the importance to hold Block level conventions, he said such conventions help in taking off BJP ideologies from the minds of the people. He said he was happy to see the  dedication level of Congress representatives in Mangaluru to make Congress party strong enough in this region.

Mallikarjun  Kharge also remembered Blasius D’Souza, a veteran leader and former minister who had played an important role in strengthening the party in the district.

Rajya Sabha Member Oscar Fernandes was felicitated during the convention in recognition of his contributions to the party.

Working President of KPCC Dinesh Gundurao congratulated block congress president for this initiative in strengthening the party in the district. Such conventions offer a platform to bring party workers and leaders together, he added.

 Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology Ramanath Rai, Power Minister DK Shivakumar, Minister for Food Supplies UT Khader and others were present.
