Mangaluru, July 13, 2020: In view of the rising cases of Covid-19 infections the district administration has decided to impose one week lockdown in Dakshina Kannada district from Wednesday night.
During the video conferencing with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today, the district administration as well as Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had pressurized the Chief Minister to impose a lockdown. The CM is learnt to have asked the administration to decide after consulting the elected representatives.
Speaking after the meeting, DK District in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary said lockdown will be imposed for a week in the district from Wednesday night. He also said that the Deputy Commissioner would be announcing the lockdown relating guidelines.
