Mangaluru, Aug 19, 2015: Puttur Assistant Commissioner Basavaraju has clarified that none of the students from a college in Subramanya had been suspended after their photographs, in which they were found holding alcohol bottles, went viral.
After media reported that two students had been suspended , Basavaraju called the principal of the college, who in turn told him that students had not been suspended.
The Assistant Commissioner has directed the principal to warn the students and to inform their parents, if they committed any mistake. The students have been asked to submit a complaint to the cyber police station on the circulation of their photographs. To avoid embarrassment, the two students have told the college authorities that they would not be coming to the college till the issue is resolved, officer said.
It may be recalled that the college principal on Friday had told a section of mediapersons that students had been suspended.
