Mangaluru, Jan 13, 2020: Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh has clarified that the administration has not appointed any staff in any government office or institution in the district for registration under Citizenship Amendment Act.
The Deputy Commissioner said so to a delegation of the DK District Citizenship Co-ordination Committee which met her on January 13, Monday. She also said there was no need for any anxiety on the issue.
The delegation drew the attention of the DC towards a recent incident when the photographs of a few Muslim women who had come for check-up at the Ullal Community Health Centre were taken resulting in a protest.
Committee leaders Farooq Ullal, U K Abbas, Akram Hasan, Ashraf Bava Kodi and others were present.
