No shortage in oxygen supply to hospitals, clarifies DC Dr Rajendra

Mangaluru, Sep 10, 2020: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V Has clarified that there were no issues in the process of supplying oxygen to various hospitals in the district and that there was no need for concern in this regard.

He was speaking while presiding over a meeting of the District level Monitoring Committee held at the DC office on Wednesday. Medical oxygen suppliers from the region participated in the meeting.

The DC said the district administration was providing all necessary help to ensure continuous supply of oxygen to all the government and private hospitals of the region. MESCOM has also been asked to provide uninterrupted power supply to the oxygen plants, the DC said.

He said raw materials for oxygen plants were procured from Palakkad in Kerala and that raw materials were also available in Ballary Torangal.

He also asked the oxygen plants to supply oxygen to hospitals on a priority basis and then provide oxygen for industrial purposes.

Assistant Drug Controller Ramakanth and other officers were present.
