The All Terrain Vehicle is developed under the guidance of Electronics and Communication department director Dr M K Parashuram, for the BAJA 2014, an inter-collegiate design competition run by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).

Team Nitte Racing is one among seven teams qualified to participate from Karnataka at the national level of ‘SAE BAJA’ competition. The competition is held on February 20 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The journey of Team Nitte Racing started on August 25, 2012, when the then final year students first participated in the virtual rounds for the ‘SAE INDIA BAJA- 2013’. However they failed to qualify. On the other hand, the inputs acquired from the team was blessing in disguise for the upcoming batch. Accordingly on August 26,  2012 ,a team of then the third year engineering students chalked out plan for the SAE INDIA BAJA-2014. Plans were also chalked out to form a new team to aid the design for the formula one racing car.

The team worked on design processes like CAD design, FEA, ergonomics, multi-body analysis, product optimisation, cost report preparation, project validation, project planning and management aspects like sponsorship, logistics etc.
