Mangaluru, Nov 13, 2023: National Education Day of India solemnizes the birth anniversary of India’s first education minister Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.

 

Nitte (Deemed to be University) celebrated National Education Day on 11th November 2023. Prof. Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Vice Chancellor, Apollo University was the chief guest and delivered a special lecture on the topic of “challenges in Higher Education”. He emphasized on the need for the simplification of regulations governing higher education institutions, the need for international collaboration & participation of private universities.

The need for highly qualified faculty and changes required in the teaching-learning process will enhance the quality of the programmes. In higher education institutions today, high-quality research has become a priority and demands support in terms of funding & creating the necessary infrastructure to ensure the Quality research outcome in terms of publication and patents. He suggested on the alternative sources of funding in managing different activities of higher education institutions.

Prof. (Dr.) M. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, Dr. G. Srinikethan, President-IIC, and Dr. Nagesh Prabhu, Director of Curriculum Development were present.
