Mangaluru, June 19, 2020: The Dakshina Kannada district administration is planning to bring out new guidelines for people from Kasargod who wish to enter Dakshina Kannada district for treatment purposes, in the backdrop of the closure of the Talapady borders.
Authorities of private hospitals in the district had recently brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner the hardship faced by patients from Kasargod after being unable to get treatment in the hospitals where they used to be treated earlier. It is learnt the administration plans to allow such patients in case the hospital where they will be treated take up the responsibility of bringing them to the hospital from the place of their stay.
As of now people from Kasargod can travel to Mangaluru subject to the condition that they have the passes issued by the DK District Administration. Similarly ambulances with patients requiring emergency treatment and who have Covid-19 negative medical report are also allowed to enter the district.
