Karkala Dec 2, 2016: Karkala Police have succeeded in arresting three persons for carrying huge amount of unaccounted cash of Rs 71 lac in new Rs 2,000 currency notes at Bailoor on Friday December 2.
The arrested have been identified as Imran, Asif and Deepak residents of Kudroli in Mangaluru. Police have seized the cash and car from their possession.
Police led by John Antony intercepted their ford car (KA 19 MA 7629) at Bailoor. Three youths found transporting new currencies notes of Rs 2,000 worth Rs 71 lac. Arrested failed neither to justify nor to produce any documents. It is said that money was being transported to a designated place in Karkala from Mangaluru via Udupi.
The money seized and the arrested persons were handed over to income tax officials in Mangaluru for further enquiry
