New Year celebrations: Commissioner calls for strict adherence to guidelines

Mangaluru, Dec 22, 2023: City Police Commissioner has asked all hotels, restaurants, clubs and other organisations to adhere to the rules laid down during New Year celebrations.

All those organizing New Year programmes will have to seek prior approval from the Police Department by filling the prescribed form and submitting the same to the City Police Commissionerate by 5 pm on December 28. In the event of Covid guidelines by the government, the same have to be strictly adhered to.

 

On the night of December 31, all New Year eve programmes must end by 12 midnight. Those celebrating on beaches and public places must behave decently and there is no scope for any unruly behavior or vulgar dance.

The Supreme Court ruling relating to noise pollution have to be adhered to. DJ music is not permitted. Liquor must not be supplied to those below 18 years and those below 18 must not be allowed for the celebrations at hotels, clubs etc unless they are accompanied by their parents. Anyone violating the rule will face stern action, the Commissioner has said.
