Naxals spotted in Shirady village

Uppinangady, Jan 16, 2018: It has been learnt that a group of armed Naxals had visited the houses of three persons named Suresh, Leena and Mohan at a village called Mittamajalu located on the edge of the forest at Addahole in Shirady village on Sunday night. Source said the suspected Naxals left the place after collecting food grains from the family members.

The news has created panic among locals. It is said three persons including a woman arrived at the residence of Leela where they introduced themselves as Naxals and told that they were hungry. They also demanded that their laptops and mobiles be charged. On finding Dosa batter in the house they requested to prepare Dosa at the house.

They then visited the houses of the other two and left with food gains including rice, sugar, vegetables and onion.

The Anti-Naxal Force is presently involved in combing operations in the area.
