Navodaya Trust organizes Chintana Samevesha for Navodaya SHGs

Udupi, Oct 21, 2012: The Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust ® of Kodialbail in Mangalore, under the leadership of M. N. Rajendra Kumar, president of SCDCC Bank, organized Chinthana Samavesha for Navodaya self-help groups in Kaup on the premises of Vidyaniketana School on Oct 20, Saturday. 


The members of Navodaya self-help groups from various religions inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp.

On this occasion, Bharatha Bushana Swastishri Bhataraka Charukeerth Pandithacharyavariya Mahaswamiji felicitated 18 achievers from fields such as agriculture, arts, sports, medicine, social service, and others. 


Devi Prasad Shetty said after accepting the honor from swamiji that this is the most precious moment in his life, adding that he can never forget this moment. 


In his address, Charukeerthi Swamiji said that people of various countries admire India for its spirituality, adding that the presence of people from different places, castes, and religions proves the social harmony in the country. 


On this occasion, K. P. Acharya thanked Rajendra Kumar and announced that 25% school fee discount will be offered to the children of the members of Navodaya Grama Vikasa. 


Entrepreneur Suresh Shetty, Fr. Stany Tauro, priest of Aroghya Mathe Church, Abdulla Rehman Madani Kathiba of Mulur Juma Masjid, entrepreneur Rohan Monteiro, and others also spoke on this occasion. 


Delivering the presidential address, Rajendra Kumar said that they have distributed uniforms to members of self-help groups, adding that he will always support good people who want to get into politics. He also said that Dr. Veerendra Heggade inaugurated this self-help group 13 years back, adding that it has grown to a large size now. 


Sports equipment and compensation was presented to two families of members of self-help groups.


The highlight of the event was a Mahalaxmi Puja.
