Mangalore, Jan 3, 2014: National Book Trust, India (NBT) will organize a mega book fair at Nehru Maidan from Saturday January 4 to January 12.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on January 3, Friday Basti Vaman Shenoy, founder of World Konkani Centre said that minister of forest, ecology and environment B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the book fair at Nehru Maidan on January 4, Saturday at 5 pm.
He also said that the book fair will be organized in city after a long gap of 13 years under the ministry of human resource development and department of higher education.
Shenoy said that 40 publishers and book sellers from across the country will set up 60 stalls in the book fair. The book fair will benefit students, teachers, academicians, book lovers and the general public.
Apart from it, fair will showcase a range of literary events and children’s activities, he added.
NBT regional head Amit Karki, NBT editor (Kannada) H Nagarajappa, were present.
