Goodwill Enterprises, a shop owned by one Sridhar, was broken into by force opening the shutter  and stole 18 television sets and Rs 3,000 cash from the cash counter. This took place under the nose of the shop owner who lives above. The theft came to the owner’s notice only after being informed of it by the paper delivery boy.

It is assumed that the theft must have occurred in the early hours. The thieves  took all caution and pointed the CCTV cameras away from the shop and while leaving with their bounty, they took the CCTV camera hard disk with them.

The floor right above the shop is occupied by Nandalike gram panchayat and also has CCTV cameras. But, the camera view facing the road opposite to the shop is blocked by the panchayat’s board.   Assistant superintendent of police Krishnakanth, police circle inspector Halamurthy, rural station house officer Nassir Hussain, finger print expert and officials of the district crime intelligence bureau visited the spot and conducted investigation. A complaint in this connection has been filed with Karkala rural police station.
