Chennai, Feb 20 2020:  Fashion evolves and constantly keeps changing.  Competing with the changing trends, is a big challenge. However, students of NSFTID have proved their passion for fashion designing, time and again.

The Costume Designer Contest organized by Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai on 8th February 2020 had many designers across the nation participating and presenting various elegant designs. The show was judged by Mr. Vivek Oberoi, Actor and Ms. Shri Vidhya, Celebrity Designer.


NSFTID students with their fabulous costumes bagged the Second prize. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle was their mantra to develop sustainable costumes. Besides, acquiring firsthand experience in designing techniques, they had an opportunity to explore new trends in designs and interact with designers.


MoU for Integrated program on ‘International Certification in Healthcare Practice’


Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mangalore and International Skill Development Corporation, United Kingdom entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for a 4-year integrated program on ‘International Certification in Healthcare Practice” to promote the career advancement and placement of the students in European countries. The program will be integrated in regular B.Sc (Nursing) curriculum where students will be trained for English language (IELTS/OET),  Computer Based test and Objective Structured Clinical Examination.

The MoU was signed by Prof (Dr) Fatima D’silva, Principal, Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences in the presence of Dr. Alka Kulkarni, Registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University) and Mr. Joel Cutinho, Head of Key Projects, ISDC.
