Mangaluru, June 12, 2017: A warm farewell was given to Chandra Sekhar M who laid down office as City Police Commissioner on June 12, Monday. He has been transferred as the IGP of CID and Economic Offences Department, Bengaluru.
Addressing the function, Chandra Sekhar thanked the media and the people of Mangaluru for the co-operation extended to him during his one and a half year term in the city. He described his service in Mangaluru as most memorable.
He also stated that he could discharge his duties effectively with the active co-operation of his colleagues as well as the people of the city.
He had a word of praise for Mangalureans when he said that the people here are law abiding and kind. At the same time there were some forces that were bent upon disturbing law and order scenario, he said and added that he has done his level best within his capacity to check such forces.
He further described the phone-in programme organised by him to hear the grievances of the public, as a success. It helped the Department to identify problems and initiate suitable action, he stated.
