Mangalore, Feb 26, 2014 : Yet another case of suspicious death of a young housewife, the third in a row in the recent few days, has been reported from Talipady village near Mulki on February 25, Tuesday.
Mallika Anchan (23) who was married just years ago and was a mother of a four month old baby was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her parental home at Kallakatta in Talipady on February 25, Tuesday morning. She was the daughter of Dejappa Poojari and Janaki and was found dead on the floor of the kitchen in a face-up position with marks of some rope tightened around the neck. The rope however was not found at the spot.
It is learnt, the body was first noticed by Mallika’s grandmother who resides in a neighbouring house and visited the house a usual to have tea. It is said Mallika’s parents were away to the Panchayat office for the birth certificate of their grandson Shashwath. The old woman raised a cry and with the help of neighbours Mallika was rushed to the hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The body has been kept at Wenlock Hospital morgue where a post-mortem will be performed on February 26, Wednesday.
Though at the outset it seems to be a case of suicide, the rope is missing and moreover her family says she was happy and there was no reason for her to end her life.
