Mukesh Ambani watch out! Kudla Kids will soon outsmart you!

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, January 10, 2014: If you thought Reliance boss Mukesh Ambani didn’t act fast enough to cover his son’s butt, then here is the good news. A Mangalore kid has just proved that he too can do an Ambani and even outdo him.

Residents of Kodialguthu East were jolted out of sleep last night when an over speeding spotless white Suzuki SX4 came zooming into the road, crashed into a MESCOM lamppost with a loud bang and instantly pulverized it before doing a full 360 and landing into a ditch several meters across the road.

“It was about midnight that I was returning after a brisk walk with my friends, when we saw this car coming on us devilishly and we instinctively ran for cover into a side road,” says one eye witness who is still in a state of shock after missing death by a whisker. “It is a miracle that the driver of the car is still alive as the vehicle did not even have airbags to protect him.”

This locality has a flourishing private hostel / paying guest business due to its proximity to colleges. After the car crashed, the local student crowd rushed to the rescue of the car driver, who according to an eye witness was a young man of about 20 years and had managed to escape with only a gash on his arm.

“He seemed to be heavily inebriated as he could not even stand up straight after the incident,” recalls the witness. “He insisted that he did not need any help and we all could go home. He said he would call his parents on his cell phone and everything would be solved. In a few minutes somebody came to pick him up and we dispersed as there was nothing more for us to do.”

Indeed the lad was true to his words. “To our surprise, within about an hour MESCOM had restored our power supply and by about 3 a.m. even the smashed car had disappeared without a trace. We went out and searched thoroughly and failed to find any evidence of an accident, not even a glass piece. This morning MESCOM linemen were up and about pretty early. The relics of the smashed lamp post had been dumped in a gutter, out of public view and a new lamp post had miraculously materialized on the spot. The linemen were busy trying to erect it,” the witness said.

Photographs acquired by MANGALORE TODAY reveal the car registration number to be ‘KA 19 MB 7399’. On enquiry with MESCOM, an official said that a person called Sunil Achar had owned up to the damage to their lamp post. He had paid the required penalties and fulfilled all formalities, the official said. However Police Control Room had no information on any complaint being filed regarding a car accident in the locality.

Fortunately, as no one was injured, the incident had a happy ending and no one was wiser. In fact, the clean up was so super that most of the residents of the locality would not even have noticed anything amiss the next morning.

Meanwhile, we Mangaloreans can take pride that even an Ambani is no match to Kudla Kids. And best of all MESCOM has proved that it can respond with lightening speed when it makes up its mind, perhaps if aided with a little extra motivation.
