Muhurat for latest Tulu movie ‘Barke’ performed

Mangalore, May 23, 2013: The Muhurat for the latest Tulu film ‘Barke’ produced under the banner Renuka Chitra Productions, was performed at Urva Mariamma Temple in Mangalore.

The first scene was of the lead pair Meghana and Rahul offering prayers to Urva Mariamma. The film is being directed by Bharath Krishna who hails from Barke while Suresh Reddy of Bangalore is the producer.

The film is named after Barke, a place in Mangalore while 60 per cent of the film will be shot in the Barke area itself. The film will be shot in  15 days in some other locales too including Panambur, Sultan Battery and  Kadri Jogi Mutt area.

The film revolves around the life of four friends and is based on a real life incident  with a touch of comedy  to a love story. The director Bharath Krishna said it would be a complete family entertainer. Bharath Krishna has the experience of producing a Kannada telefilm ‘Samadhi’ for an international film festival.

Other star cast of the film include Ashwin Shetty, Rahul, RJ Nagaraj and Balakrishna Shetty all from the district. Revanasiddaiah from Bangalore will don the role of villain. The film is expected to be released by Ganesha Chaturthi.

Noted Tulu playwright Vijaykumar Kodialbail, Yajneshwar  Barke, Vinny Fernandes, Hariprasad, Jagannath Shetty Bala and others were present during the Muhurat ceremony.
