Mangaluru, Jan 17, 2020: A PU student Moorje Sunitha Prabhu, who hails from Belthangady has been selected for the ’Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar’ announced by the Union ministry of women and child welfare.
The award consists of Rs 1 lakh and a citation. Sunitha, is a PU student at CFAL, Mangaluru, had represented India in the 80th Science and Technology Fair held at Phoenix, USA, in 2019.
The ministry has selected Sunitha, the daughter of Belthangady-based entrepreneur Vivekanand Prabhu and Shanthala Prabhu, for the award in recognition of her Phoenix achievement. She will receive the award from President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 22.
She will have the opportunity, along with her parents, to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries at the Republic Day function on January 26.
