Moodbidri: Sunil Keerthi of Chowtara Aramane passes away

Sunil Keerthi of Chowta aramane, moodbidriMoodbidri, Jan 15, 2014: The traders in Moodbidri have closed down their establishment on Jan 15, in honour of Sunil Keerthi, Moodbidri’s well-known Jain leader and businessman who passed away on January 14, Tuesday.


The deceased is the grandson of Kunhanna Shetty and the last king of the Chowtara Aramane.


Sunil Keerthi was also a member of the DK District Jainamatha Sthapana Samithi and President of Moodbidri DJVV Sangha. 


Apart from being Founder of Padmavathi Kala Mandir, he was recently appointed as the Trustee of Moodbidri’s 16 Basadis.


Sunil was the owner of Tribhuvan Motors located in Mangalore and Magranth Motors in Moodbidri, authorised dealers for Hero vehicles. 


The mortal remains of the deceased were placed at the Chowtara Palace for the public respect. The last rites were performed at Puttige Kayarmanj Palace.
