Moodbidri: Lucky escape for passengers as Mumbai-Mangaluru pvt bus plunges into plantation

Mangaluru, May 25, 2015 : A few passengers who were travelling in a Mumbai-Mangaluru  private bus had a lucky escape when  the bus all of a sudden veered to the roadside and plunged into a plantation  at Handelusuttu in Puttige Gram Panchayat limits on May 25, Monday morning.

 

Luckily, the bus belonging to Canara  Travels had very few passengers at the time of the mishap as most had already alighted the  bus.  It is said the driver lost control over the bus resulting in the mishap.

Two of the passengers who were in the bus sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, a lady passenger who was caught inside the bus was helped by locals to get out of the bus.
Two coconut trees were damaged as the bus had hit them before crash landing in the plantation.

The bus has been badly mangled in the mishap.
