Moodbidri : Grocery shop staff attacked, robbed of Rs 5 lakhs by unidentified assailants

Moodbidri, Nov 10, 2015: In a shocking incident reported from Pranthya in Moodbidri, some unidentified assailants attacked the staff of a well-known grocery store of the town and robbed them of a cash of Rs 5 lakhs on November 9, Monday night.

The staff namely Pranesh (35) and Chandrashekhar(60) have sustained serious injuries in the attack and have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The grocery shop for which they worked was owned by Parkar Saheb.

The incident had occurred when the two were on way to their employer’s house along with the cash after closing the shop. It is learnt, the assailants who were following the scooter in a car had rammed their vehicle against the scooter leaving the two off guard. As the two scooterists fell on the road, they were attacked and the cash robbed.

Moodbidri police are investigating the case.

The attackers had an eye on the grocer and might have attacked him in the dark.
